Terms of Service

Last updated: July 28, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Meetless ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Description of Service

Meetless is an active source of truth for AI coding agents. It has two parts, and they are governed differently:

  • mla, a command-line client that runs on your own machine. It reads your repository and your coding-agent sessions locally, captures decisions as work happens, flags stale or conflicting instructions, and injects governed context into an agent's prompt before it acts. mla is open source, licensed under Apache-2.0, and your use of it is governed by that licence rather than by these terms (see section 9).
  • The hosted service: the backend that stores and serves your governed content, the Console, this website, and our APIs. These terms govern that.

mla can be pointed at a backend you run yourself. If you do that and never use our hosted service, the only sections with anything to say to you are the ones about the client and about liability: 4, 9, 11, 12, and 13.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, including any command-line access token stored on your machine
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the hosted service, to another customer's workspace, or to any related system
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the hosted service, including by circumventing rate limits or usage quotas
  • Upload content you know to contain another party's credentials, secrets, or personal data you have no right to share
  • Use the Service to transmit malicious code or harmful content
  • Resell or sublicense access to the hosted service without our written consent

Nothing in this section limits the rights the Apache-2.0 licence grants you over the mla client. You may read it, modify it, run it, and redistribute it on that licence's terms.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of everything you submit to the hosted service ("Your Content"): your decisions, project memory, governance records, notes, and the session outcomes you choose to capture. You grant us a limited licence to store, index, process, and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you.

We do not train models on Your Content or on your source code. Some features send a portion of Your Content to a model provider in order to answer a specific request you made; that is processing on your behalf, and it is described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit Your Content and that it does not violate any third-party rights.

6. Third-Party Services

The Service can connect to tools you already use, and it relies on third-party infrastructure and model providers to operate. Your use of any integration you connect is also subject to that provider's own terms. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of third-party services, and an integration may change or be withdrawn by its provider at any time.

7. Fees and Payment

The hosted service is currently free during beta. We may introduce paid plans, and if we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice before any charge applies to your account and you will be able to decline by closing it. When fees do apply, they are non-refundable unless otherwise stated or required by law. The mla client is free and open source, and will remain so.

8. Beta Service

The hosted service is in beta. Features may change or be removed, availability is not guaranteed, and you should not treat it as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. We will give reasonable notice before a change that would break how you work.

9. Intellectual Property and Open Source

The hosted service, this website, and their design and content are owned by Meetless and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or branding.

The mla client is a separate matter. It is published under the Apache-2.0 licence, and that licence, not these Terms, defines what you may do with it. Where the two conflict, the licence governs the client. Source: github.com/Meetless/mla.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what mla reads on your machine, what leaves it, what never does, and how to turn every outbound plane off.

11. Agent Output and Your Judgment

Meetless steers AI coding agents. It does not supervise them, and it does not make them correct. Context we inject may be incomplete, a conflict we flag may be a false positive, and a conflict we miss may be real. You remain responsible for reviewing and testing anything an agent produces before you ship it, exactly as you would for code written by a person.

Governance records the Service produces are evidence of what was decided and by whom. They are not legal advice, not a compliance certification, and not a substitute for your own approval processes.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. You use the Service at your own risk.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Meetless shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or one hundred US dollars.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Meetless harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the hosted service at any time for violation of these Terms, or for any other reason with reasonable notice. You may close your account at any time by contacting us, and you may export Your Content before you do. Upon termination your right to use the hosted service ceases, your locally installed copy of mla keeps working under its own licence, and provisions that by their nature should survive will remain in effect.

16. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
